The dive of the future Molnár Jánosbarlang
The (art) collection of Archduke Ernest of Austria (1553-1595) is widely unknown when it comes to early-modern Habsburg collections. Ernest, younger brother of Emperor Rudolf II (b. 1552) and educated at the Madrid court, was appointed Governor-General of the Netherlands by King Philip II of Spain, his uncle, in summer 1593.

János Molnár is a vast underground cave, located right under Budapest. The depth of the cave is approximately 100m and the width is 3km. The cave is made out of thermal karst springs, spewing from the depths and it is one of tje biggest thermal caves in the world. The tepmerature of water fluctuates between 25-27°C.
